January 2, 2005

We came on the recommendation of a Costa Rican guide and stayed for the rest of
our trip.  We enjoyed all 10 days of breakfast, view and hospitality.  Jo and Agnes,
you are doing a great job! We hope to see you again in the near future.  Thanks
for the enjoyable stay.  Brian

It was such a treat to arrive here at Villa Mango and dry off after our wet stay in
Monteverde and Arenal.  After 2 days we knew we needed to stay longer and we did
stay 10.  Having the time to sit in the hammock and enjoy the view was such a
gift. We hope the two of you have time to enjoy this place as much as we have.
Thanks for taking such great care of us.  We will send out an email to our friends
and Lonely Planet.  Happy New Year and Peace.  Kimberly

We love your "gato"!  Great Honeymoon spot!

January 2, 2005

The most charming hosts we could imagine!  The 6 of us had a magical time for
5 nights.  Breakfast was always the perfect start to each day and Agnes set us up
with whatever activities we desired.  Don't miss an early walk in the reserve!  I can't
imagine that we won't be back.

Our family had a wonderful new year's start at Villa Mango.  Good luck to Jo and
Agnes in getting all your wonderful ideas executed. If you need anything we can
help you with from New York city, don't hesitate to ask. Don't give up on your
dream.  You have all the ingredients for a successful business.  Warm regards.

A beautiful spot... wonderful home and the best hosts in the world.  What could be
better? Thanks for 5 lovely days.  Agnes impressed us with her car rental agency
finesse and Jo's handy work is shaping up fantastically.  All the best to you both!
Cheers, Barb Moffat and Andrew Kunz

What a find!  So happy we just stumbled across your wonderful home.  By far it
was our favorite place to stay and we intend to come back very soon.  We will be
back for much longer next time.  All our love.

Thank you so much for your hospitality.  Villa Mango felt like a home away from
home.  And you were both so very helpful with advices and tips or things to do in
the area.

Thank you for letting us share your piece of paradise with Shervin and I. Your
B&B was the best find, a treasure that was unexpected and just what we were
looking for.

We look forward to seeing you on our next trip!

We had a wonderful time, albeit short.  We will most certainly be back.  You are
delightful hosts.  All the best to you.

If only we had driven by 2 days earlier.. we love the villa and most of all the
relaxed atmosphere that you created.  All the best and we'll have to see you again,
either in Costa Rica or Puerto Rico.
Saludos, Joshua

January 6, 2005

I don't want to leave today!  I feel like I was visiting friends, not a B&B.  And in
the most breathtaking setting too!  Penny and I will tell every one about the special
Villa Mango.  I can't wait to return next year and see all of the changes.  Good
luck - not that you need it - with building and expanding your B&B. Thank you
for everything.  Ashley Chapman

I'II told you I'll be back and now that I am, I don't want to go! Again!!  I do hope
to return very soon... this time to stay in the Tucan room!!  Mind you... I am
happy to stay wherever... as long as I am here.  Many thanks again for a truly
magical stay!  All my love xoxoxo

Pisotes, armadillos, vulturs, Minette, etc, etc, have all had a little part to play in 6
of the most relaxing days I have ever spent.  Thank you to Agnes, Jo, Maritza, Jose
and Yamileth for providing a lovely atmosphere.  The house did the rest.  The best
thing to say of course is "I wish I lived here"...

PS:  Have fun Canadians!!!!

January 16 - February 12

Who needs the canopy tour when we are at Villa Mango?  It has been an exciting
time from start to finish.  We love the pool and all its visitors.  What a great place
you have!

Bernie & Bette, Summerland, BC, Canada

January 16 to February 12

Thank you to Jo and Agnes and all your wonderful staff for a great stay at Villa
Mango.  I found it very comfortable here and immensely enjoyed the magnificent
view and timely intriguing and continually fascinating jungle environment.  The
meals were always wonderful and tantalizing. Jose's endless pleasant responses to
my poor Spanish is certainly is certainly commendable.

Many others enjoyed this wonderful place in this gorgeous setting!!

January 16 - February 12

Hard to believe that we are leaving this little paradise today.  the month has gone
so quickly.  We loved the feel of living in a "tree-house" being able to watch the
wildlife.  We did not really need to leave on those tours.  We saw more, right here.
Everything was great. Jose and Blanca made us feel like part of the family and we
enjoyed them even with our "small" Spanish. We'll miss all of this when we go
back to the rain and cold of B.C.  We will think of you often with more memories.
Wishing you lots of success.  I'll try sending clients when I can.

Sincerely, Midge and Peter Benhke, Peachland, B.C., Canada

February 12 - March 1

Two weeks of relaxation, warm sun, great company.  Tony's tour was interesting,
Wing nuts Canopy tour was fun, Rio Nosara horseback ride was a fast and
beautiful ride on the beach.  Olga's is in the perfect spot to cool down with a beer.
I made some crafts, learned some Spanish.  Villa Mango is a beautiful place.
Thank you Jo and Agnes and thank you for opening your house.

Vanya Beck, Kamloops, B.C., Canada

The third time return, and no rooms available!!!  We came back to Costa Rica for
the third vacation, and we tried to become the first guests to return and return
again.  But bad luck for us.  Villa Mango was just booked out!

That's the growth of business and tourism in Nosara.

But surely, we had an appointment with our friends Agnes & Jo and they asked us
to put a comment on their guest book for the third time..

Klaus & Gudula - Germany

February 5 to March 10

Five weeks have gone so quickly.  You have a beautiful villa. We have enjoyed the
fantastic view, the birds, monkeys, pool, food, everything!  Jose has been a delight,
friendly, trying so hard to understand what  it is we are asking him to do and so
patient.  Sorry we did not have more opportunities to know the two of you.  We
wish you all the best with your dreams and business

Joyce & Ken Beck - Kamloops, B.C., Canada

March 6 to 12

Costa Rica is where we came for a rest.
Olga's, cerveza and ambience deemed the best
Surf was high, and we rode the waves.
Tony's river boat bird watching tour was all the rave.
A new canopy appeared before our eyes as the rainy season appeared early from the sky.

Ridley "Olive" turtles labored in a moonless night
Iguanas, monkeys, pizotes, welcome sight
Cook Blanca, and handyman Jose cared for us well.
All the folks at Villa Mango B&B were swell!

                                           We had a wonderful time!!!
                                    Susan and Lenny, Ottawa, Canada
Jack & Sharon, Salem, Oregon (actually Canadians)

January 16 - March 13

Lennie went to the bakery for one last treat, so I will say goodbye for all of us.  We
had a great 2 months.  Can't believe it is over all ready.  Fantastic views, fantastic
time!  Thank you so much.  Lenny really wanted to take Jose back to Canada, but
did not know how he would like shoveling snow!!!

All the best!

Joyce Dubuc, Ottawa, Canada

February 12 - 21

Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us.  We bring back with us
beautiful memories of what la "Pura vida" truly is.  Good luck with all your
future projects.

Our third trip to Costa Rica and we thought we would need a trip to Panama to
add a little "adventure".  That was before we saw Villa Mango and all it has to
offer.  I am sure no holiday at an Eco-lodge could match our experiences with
howlers, pizotes, parrots, anteaters and the resident armadillo...  with all the
conveniences of home!

Thanks Agnes and Jo, Blanca and Jose

Wow... what an amazing place!  More than we expected and even better than the
pictures on the web site (a rare occasion).  Our time here has been a gift from God.
He made the way for us as we prayed and asked for the right place to go. Thank
you for your kindness and your hospitality in every way.  This location is wonderful
and we can't wait to come back!  The Toucan room was a great room for our
honeymoon.  I am amazed by our Creator and the beauty that surrounds us.  May
your lives be filled with truth and love, may you find everything that your heart
desires and longs for!  We will pray for you and if you need anything, let us know.
You were very kind and thoughtful to us.  Thank you and blessings on you!

This is our last night here and we have been relaxing outside, listening to all the
crickets and howler monkeys while lazily relaxing on the hammock chairs.  We
came to Costa Rica to celebrate our One Year Anniversary and this was such a
wonderful place to do so.  The deck is amazing and I loved our bathroom (we want
to design our bathroom just the same).  Thank you for sharing your home with us
and for your hospitality and delicious breakfast!  We hope to come back someday
and share and celebrate another anniversary!

This is just PARADISE!

Thank you so much for the "family like" hospitality. The Nature around here is
incredibly beautiful, day and night!  I will definitely recommend this trip to your

This is easily one of the best places I've ever stayed in - and I travel for a living!
We have had a wonderful stay and it is hard to pick out the pleasures... the
beaches, your breakfasts, meeting you and getting a feel for your hopes and plans
for this place, seeing the turtles up in Ostional, watching the sunsets from La
Luna, the boat trip with Tony, watching the pelicans fishing, body-surfing at
Playa Carillo... Most of all I loved just being here, waking to feel the breeze and
sunlight falling through the slats, hearing the howler monkeys at the half dawn,
seeing humming birds fighting over their doses of nectar, and pizotes drinking
from the pool, reading, swimming.  Thank you! You made our holiday!

James McConnochie - England - Rough Guides

After a week up in Arenal and Monteverde, we were desperate to come to the coast
and see the beautiful waves and the famous sunsets and finding Villa Mango and
meeting you.  I knew I'd want to stay and stay.  I'll never forget staying here.  You
have created a wonderful , atmospheric and warm place and I wish you both so
much luck with your plan for it.  Anyone who comes here will feel lucky and
touched by it - and take a bit home with them.  Thank you for your kindness and
hospitality, and for those delirious and fun breakfasts. and chats.  With Thanks -
and I hope I may be able to return one day.

April 23, 2005

It is a "first" to me to reach anything approaching relaxation on day one of my
holidays... never mind the tranquility I have found here from the first moment of
stepping across the threshold.  The beautiful house, its settings and views are
apparent immediately but the friends we have met over breakfasts, the welcoming
atmosphere and the inspirational couple at the helm are what really make this an
exceptional place to stay.  Thanks for some very special memories

"Well done!"  is all I can say. If you have done this well in 2 years, i know I'll be

found.

When ya gotta go, ya gotta go... back to gringo land that is.  But don't worry, I'll

are still many cantinas to explore.  So hopefully we will have many more great
time together.  I will send the pictures as soon as I can when I get back to

other.  Much Love.

Your home is an inspiration to live well!  We enjoyed our time here. The best
wildlife in Costa Rica comes right to the porch.  And we always felt that we had a
"home" to come to after a hard day at the beach.  We enjoyed your laughter,
stories and insights. We can only hope that in 15 years we will still have the same
joyful rapport that you share.  And who knows... maybe we will take the plunge
and become your neighbors!  We are already looking forward to coming back to
see the new work on Villa Mango. With great affection!

Thank you for such a lovely and peaceful stay.  Your house is magnificent and
especially with the sighting of those cute howler monkeys.  Wish we could stay
longer but when the rain comes, we go... Actually you did provide us with some
beautiful sunshine and we so appreciate it...

All the luck with your business.  I cannot see why you two would not succeed.

Ein herzliches Gruess Gott aus Germany!  We traveled throughout the world in the
last twenty years, but this is a special place.  The "special" is that you, Agnes &
Jo, have similar spirits than we.  You have an extraordinary compromise between
life and nature - so the monkeys gave a wonderful concert at 4:20 am.  We hope
that you establish a good restaurant, have a good business and maybe we can enjoy
Costa Rican seafood sometime.

My stay at Villa Mango has been a restful, relaxing and peaceful one. Your
kindness and hospitality are second to none.  Our room was stunning, the views
breathtaking.  You can count on me to send many friends your way, though it
makes me a little nervous to have too many discover this gem in paradise.
I look forward to returning within the year and appreciating
all of your improvements and additions.
Thank you for organizing the turtle adventure.  Many memories were created here
and I truly thank you for being so open, honest and real.
I experienced being a part of your family for a few days and it is not
just any person who can create that for others.

What to say? Words like paradise, very nice place, beautiful, quiet, nice scenery,
wonderful hosts, good breakfasts including the personal company of you, lovely
pool and so on.  This is a place we could stay at for weeks.
However time is limited in a holiday like ours.  So, thank you very much for your
hospitality. Your motto "Come as Guests, leave as Friends" worked for us.  I hope
you will go on with the B&B and may be will see you in the future.

Traveling in a foreign country, this place feels like "coming home".  The place is
AMAZINGLY beautiful and so are the owners, who make you feel like home.
The view, the nature, comfort and breakfast make you want to stay more.

It is not about the amount of time you stay

but it is about places and people who
touch your heart.

 This is one of them!

We enjoyed the last three days of our holiday in Costa Rica in your wonderfully
designed B&B.  We've seen many places, also years before when I lived in
Nicaragua, and your place stays in the top ten.  Your breakfasts will stay in our
memory and we enjoyed the chats we had in French.  We were lucky to see the
turtles in Ostional in the early moment and that was almost "le moment le plus
impressionant".  The second time, we went in the early evening, but we nearly got
stuck in the river, because of a cow, who got into the water and could not get out.
The culinary highlight was having dinner at "Chez Olivier".
We thank you for your hospitality during our stay.  You make great piñas coladas,
unforgettable.  All the best for the future!

To everyone we met at Villa Mango (Micki, Roger, Jose, Yami and Jo & Agnes
whom we could not meet):

Thank you!  We are having a great time here. It is our second night and we are
very glad we have found this place by accident (in the rain, looking for town).  It is
a beautiful place - relaxing, a perfect vacation spot.
Our one night is turning to two, turning to three when we have to return.
Everyone here is so warm and welcoming - thank you.  It has been one of the most
beautiful places in Costa Rica.
Agnes and Jo - thank you for maintaining and sharing such a great place.
Thanks to Micky, Jose, Yami and Roger for their hospitality, advice and
conversation.

PS:  We stayed a third night  and were fortunate enough to meet Jo and Agnes.

Thank you for your hospitality, conversation and for sharing your own stories of
travel and adventure.  I look forward to returning to Villa Mango when it is
hopping and where you envision it to be (save us a room, eh?)

lindo.
Un fuerte abrazo,

Thank you so much for your warm and more than friendly hospitality while we
were staying in your beautiful home. I have never been so far from home, yet felt so
at home before in my life . Ryan and I have both dreamed of doing what you have
done here, and we can only hope that it could as beautiful, well done, and
welcoming as Villa Mango. I can say for Ryan and myself that it breaks our hearts
to have to leave, but then will be many more good times ahead.

Thank you sincerely for everything.

Staying here has been a dream come true for both of us.
We came as guests we are definitely leaving as friends.
Thank you again. Meghan and Ryan

We had such a fantastic time @ your lovely place ! We really feel part of your
family. Hope everything goes good with construction we know

what a pain in the.. it is!

We will tell everyone about Villa Mango
If it wasn't for your place, we would have never gotten the RR that we desperately needed. You  made this visit very fun and interesting and  amazing for us.

Because of your fun, relaxing attitudes you bought out the best of Costa Rica to us!!

I couldn't believe all the interesting creatures we were able to see during our visit.

We met your friendly raccoon  Snooky (who thinks he's a cat or some sh...)

and the sexy monkeys with white balls, also known as "huevos grandes" en espanol!

Lets not get started with the dawn bugs ,  stupid praying mantis.

We love you guys so much.  Thanks for the great fabulous time!!

Hope to see you soon!!

Jo, We came up here by chance but what a find, as this place is a peaceful paradise!!

Will and would recommend this place to anyone.  Joe you have done a great job with your rooms and patio.  A great addition to the fortress.  Good luck with all your other projects.  We hope that your wife is ok and will come back some day to meet her.

If you are ever back in Colorado please stop by in Breckenridge and see us.

October

We came here by chance.

The elegant atmosphere and more than friendly treatment made us very happy.

If it where not the prediction of hurricane Beta in a a day or two, we would stay longer. We may return.  Charles enjoyed telling all his motorcycle and travel stories from the deep dark past (and  to hear  about Joe and Agnes travel stories).

Charless & Marjorie Fowlkes

Bozeman, montana

I loved it all, the company, the room, pool, birds and the monkeys.  I'm only sad that the hurricane threat keeps us from staying longer.  We do feel we are leaving as friends.

Yo no me quiero reencarnar , quiero vivir aqui.

Resumiendo a todos nos gustaria volver.  Gracias por todo : Agnes and Jo.

What to say?

What we had expected, we didn't find here , it was much better.

We had a clear idea of good breakfast (yet recommended by Anya),

here it was better!

We liked nice, clean and sympathic  rooms

here they were better!

And at least a good hotel should have a nice atmosphere and a beautiful setting

here it was far ahead!

If we had  added here even nice words for the hosts,

nobody would have  ever believed that such a nice hotel existed.

So we keep it for us, knowing very well that we will keep this place in our minds

and will always be ready to come back.

A plus, Pascal and Sabrina

From Scott and Barry

Our home is in Hawaii and every new "point" is a new adventure.

Villa Mango has been one of those special adventures.  The house is beautiful.

Jo and Agnes are some of the best hosts you will ever meet.

The beaches in Nosara are some of the most beautiful in the world.

We will be coming back in July or August of next year in hopes

of buying our own piece of paradise here.

From California Coast to Nosara...

Mmm, warm water and breezes in the midst of your winter,

a respite from cold water and rain.  Jo and Agnes are hosts extraordinaire.

We stayed 6 nights and could have been content for at least another week.

Surf wasn't high the fist few days, then head high the next few.

Perfect for the beginner,  then perfect for the expert.

The sunsets was magnificent and the company fabulous.

Jose and  Yamileth  were fun loving and hard working.  Mango Villas own "easy Riders"

Minette was a princess and welcomed into her  domain in exchange for a few massages.

Dear Agnes and Jo,

Thank you so much for our wonderful week in paradise!!

I couldn't imagine a more beautiful spot for the eleven of us to

come together for Hanukkah and Christmas.

We will certainly miss waking up to your breathtaking views, the delicious breakfast, and a whole day of beaches, turtle watching, forest hiking and relaxing on the veranda!

Thank you so much for your warm hospitality, you are wonderful host!

We will certainly spread  the world about what a great place Villa Mango is

(or maybe not, since we'd love to come back and have it all to ourselves again!)

Thanks again, and best wishes in 2006!

How will we continue to wake up for breakfast with no promise of juice or eggs

(with tomato, cheese of course).  We couldn't have asked for anyplace better than Villa Mango.  The house and both of you (plus Minette) exceeded our wildest hopes and dreams.  Thank you and happy 2006! We hope to see you again soon!
